Spacious Portable Home
£13800.00
Our 7.8m yurt is handmade in Mongolia by skilled artisans who have been building yurts for generations. Crafted using mostly organic, natural materials, it reflects true nomadic tradition and honest craftsmanship.
The circular design isn’t just beautiful — it creates natural, balanced airflow, allowing air to circulate perfectly throughout the space. Combined with the central crown opening, the yurt feels fresh, breathable, and connected to the outdoors.
Spacious, warm, and grounded, every piece is made by hand — no factories, no shortcuts — just time-honored skill and natural materials. This is a real Mongolian yurt, made the way it has always been made.

Yurt Components
Our yurt consists of two main parts: wooden components and soft materials. Each element works together to create a strong, breathable, and comfortable living space.
1. Wooden Components
All major wooden parts are handmade in Mongolia using traditional techniques. Most structural components are crafted from Siberian Tamarack, known for its strength and durability, while the lattice walls are made from willow or birch.
The wooden structure includes:
Crown (Toono) – the central ring that holds the rafters and allows light and air to enter
Door – solid wooden frame, traditionally crafted
Windows – integrated for additional natural light
Rafters (Uni) – connecting the walls to the crown
Support poles
Lattice walls (Khana) – flexible yet incredibly strong, forming the circular shape
2. Soft Materials
The yurt is covered with four separate layers, designed for comfort, insulation, and weather protection:
Inner Cover
Cream-coloured, made from high-quality cotton (roof and walls).
This layer creates a soft, natural interior finish. It can be washed in a regular 18kg washing machine.
Insulation / Felt
Made from 100% Mongolian sheep’s wool (roof and walls).
Approximately 1.5cm - 2cm thick, the felt sits behind the inner cover and is not visible from inside. It not only keeps the yurt warm but also adds strength and stability to the wooden structure.
Rain Cover
White poly-canvas (60% polyester / 40% cotton).
This layer is vapour-permeable, allowing moisture to escape while protecting the yurt from rain.
Outer Cover & Crown Cap
Poly-canvas with traditional motifs, usually in beige (roof and walls).
This final layer provides additional protection from the elements while giving the yurt its classic, authentic appearance.
